Fibromyalgia symptoms: Painkillers may help to relieve painful symptoms

There’s currently no cure for fibromyalgia, although some treatments could help to relieve painful symptoms.

Painkillers may help to relieve the pain linked to fibromyalgia, the NHS said.

If over-the-counter painkillers aren’t effective, your GP may prescribe you more powerful medication.

Muscle relaxants and medication to help you sleep may also help to relieve symptoms.

Psychotherapy and relaxation techniques are useful alternative treatments that should be used alongside medication.
